Val Hoyt plays guitar and banjo for the The Band and has fostered his love of music since early childhood. He had his first solo at age 5, performing Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” at his preschool graduation. Val began playing keyboard and trumpet in elementary school, which soon evolved into guitar and drums, his two favorite passions. Val has an innate feel for music and enjoys playing all genres, from Classic Rock to Country to Alternative. He has a funny wit and loves to play around with his fellow band mates. Val recently started working with Peter Vogl of Jan Smith Studios to perfect his musical talents.  Val is thrilled to have the opportunity to play with the very talented Jordan Grassi and explore this exciting musical genre!
